Jets Hand Rascals 1st Loss 18-10

GTThe Golden Triangle Jets (2-3) handed the Tallahatchie Rascals (4-1) their first loss of the season Thursday night, 18-10, at New Albany’s Legion Field. The Jets poured on 13 runs in the 7th and 8th innings to seal the deal. Dalton Kulas smacked a 3-run home run in the 7th and RBI hits from Zach Tippitt (a double) and Evan Weibel in the 8th figured big in the offensive explosion. Weibel, Tippitt, Ben Fleming, Dylan Anderson, Josh Chism and Wes Weaver all collected two hits in the contest for the Jets. Brent Hallmark got the win for Golden Triangle no-hitting the Rascals for the final two innings.
The Rascals fared well offensively on the night themselves, collecting 14 hits in their best performance from the plate this season. Drew Dillard was 3 for 3 with a home run and Colby Maxwell, last week’s CSBL Player of the Week, went 3 for 4. Ben Wallis and Corbin Moore also notched a couple of hits each for Tallahatchie. Zane Treadaway took the loss for the Rascals in a game that was a 5-5 battle through the 5th inning.
The next BNA Bank Cotton States Baseball League action will be a double-header tonight at 6:00 pm with the North Delta Dealers visiting the Tallahatchie Rascals. These contest were rescheduled from Monday night and replaces a single 7:00 pm game on the original BNA CSBL schedule.
